About Brielle:

Shrewsbury Township was divided in the early 19th century.  The southern section became Howell Township.  In 1851 it was divided again and Wall Township was created.  Brielle was created from a section of Wall in 1919.

Through the years Brielle has grown into a residential community with many of its residents commuting to careers in New York.  Brielle’s marinas host more than 200 commercial and charter fishing boats.  Although there is no ocean frontage in Brielle, they are only minutes away from the beautiful beaches of Pt. Pleasant and Manasquan.

Education:

The Brielle School District serves public school students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Brielle Elementary School had an enrollment of 748 students in the 2009-10 school year.  For grades 9-12, public school students attend Manasquan High School, as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Manasquan Public Schools.
